It’s the last
day of May…WOW WOW WOW…how time has flown right on by! While driving to work
this morning, I was thinking – ok Estelle, so what will you blog about today?
LOL… and in that moment I was just amazed at how God has been faithful in
always giving me something to write about this past week. I thought about my
evening last night…about my past week, about a phone call with a friend
yesterday to whom I said “ek is net
dankbaar”… (“I am thankful”)
We view the world differently, we experience emotions inversely, and we celebrate different flavours of the world otherwise. We take for granted that how we view things is exactly what someone else is supposed to see, when in fact they could be seeing something totally different. And that’s what life is about…our diversity, our differences, the variety that life offers us. Ultimately it’s about how we choose to celebrate this journey. And in sharing, maybe gain another view.

Even Mondays' deserve a chance..
Happy Monday!
Everyone can attest to once in their life when you were happy that you were afforded a second chance...whether it was another shot at attaining your drivers' license...re-writing a test to better a mark, a second chance to just...make right.

Theatre treat to kick off my weekend
And it is the
last and final Friday for May 2016 -how this week has flown! My first week of
blogging comes to an end; and it’s been invigorating – even for me! So I was
thinking that because it’s Friday; I’ll attempt to do a light hearted,
something nice, toffee-like-pancake-sweet-treat post on a Friday…I think that’s
a spleeendid idea!
Theatre is
another BIG love of mine!
And if I
think back to my childhood, I was introduced to it by my parents from young.
With my family being all musically inclined I was always taken to shows, either
as audience member with the family or waiting backstage because my dad was set
to perform. My brother and I were taken to experience theatre musicals in
itself and I could always see myself being part of such a production.
I’ve realised
that as ‘normal’ as this was for me, seeing shows and my exposure to
entertainment on this platform was a privilege…that people are not often exposed
to. But it’s such another amazing platform that can be used to highlight social
issues – or otherwise, like today, just enjoy the art of ballet for relaxation.
My current
friendship circle shares this love with me – which makes wanting to share such
experiences, so much easier. Whether we make up block bookings to see a
musical, a ballet, stand up comedy etc we LOVE IT!
I believe you
should always avail yourself to new experiences. My dad always said, and still
says “how can you say you don’t like it, if
you haven’t even tried it?”
And it’s
true. Only now that I’m older, I’m able to throw that line back at him! Heehee J
Artscape
Opera House was my location today at 15h30 to see the Cape Town City Ballet
portray the well known ‘Coppelia’. I’ve not seen this production before, so was
quite excited. It was the final dress rehearsal before the official show
scheduled for 19h30…(yes, that’s how it’s done!)
My friends Valda, Sune and little miss Tatum I met up (thank
you for arranging the tickets for us, Kim and aunty Nat!), collected our tickets and made our way to our seats.
It was also just great to relax...and sit - to just breathe and soak in the moment.
It was good to be there to experience how the others experienced the moment. About 3 schools I think, was also part of the crowd and I am sure that for many of them..this was a first experience.
The evening ended with supper, some shopping and good conversation at the V&A Waterfront...and now I am happy to be home.
Wishing
everyone a splendid weekend; we will connect on Monday!

"Speak life..."
Nothing beats
starting the day with a good cup of coffee – even before cereal…coffee just has
the ability to let you know, ‘you’re awake’. So yes, there’s life! Life in the
chill of the air, life in the sounds I heard when I left home this morning…
We
are alive.
School Shoe Project...help warm someone's feet
So this morning was not the best of mornings for me: my body was tired, even though I had an early night. After my day yesterday, I was just happy to get into a warm bed and snuggle up warmly. It has become such routine that I don't think about the fact that I have warm water to enjoy a warm shower, I have blankets...and extra if needed if I'm cold, I have warm pjs to wear, a roof over my head..had something to eat...while others don't.

Rock-A-Bye-Baby House
And when discussing and making arrangements, my friend mentioned that should the ladies be able to – that we add in an extra gift to donate to Rock-a-Bye-House in Kuils River.

When last did you do something for the very first time..?
This question often challenges me. Just think about it...everyday, or most days rather are very monotonous, same routine...nothing changes.
So my response to this question...TODAY...my first day of blogging! :)
